The meeting was held at Moe’s Coffee and Martha Rasmussen opened the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report and Approval of Budget:
Steve Somsen read the treasurer’s report, Dave moved to “approve the current treasurer’s report”, Ken seconded and the motion carried.
Approval of Last Meeting’s Minutes:
Roselie moved to “approve the minutes of the October 18, 2021 Darrington Strong Board meeting”, Dave seconded and the motion carried.
Website Updates:
Martha reported on the status of the Darrington Strong website and announced that the top hits were on the events, bicycling and camping pages with 2,436 total page views and 1,776 sessions.
Unfinished Business:
Roselie received no return calls or texts from Kaleb Wyatt. Linn contacted him and he said he would respond to Roselie the next day.
New Business:
Christmas Giving Tree: JoAnn updated us on the event and discussed the local businesses that are participating.
Darrington Historical Society: Scott Morrison answered questions about the Suiattle Guard Station restoration and discussion ensued about creating a “Friends of the Suiattle Guard Station” Darrington Strong division.
Friends of Fortson: Martha met with Gary & Dawn, to discuss the dissolution of the “Friends of Fortson” division as the county is not cooperating because of the “archeological site” status of the area.
Darrington Strong Updates:
Martha is meeting with the Concrete Chamber of Commerce president, Victoria, who wants to put together a website like Darrington Strong’s.
Whitehorse Community Artisans: On December 6, 2021, an online vote was made by the board: Marla moved to “accept the Whitehorse Community Artisans as a new Darrington Strong Division”. The motion was seconded by JoAnn and the motion carried.
