A Place for Dedicated Artisans to Develop Their Craft and Offer It To The People Who Value It Most
There’s a lot to learn both about your craft and about distributing your creations to those that will value them.
It’s hard to learn all that in isolation.
There are a lot of hurdles to developing something of beauty and quality that you’ve made by hand.
- You might need to work another job because your craft doesn’t cover your living expenses.
- Materials can be hard to find or expensive.
- You might not have someone to bounce ideas off of, or to offer you honest reflections about what you’re creating that’s really working well.
- You might not have the time, energy or know-how to find the venues where your products can be found by those who would love them.

Sometimes a beautiful creative talent can go undeveloped because the individual doesn’t get the encouragement they need to help them develop it. They might not realize that it’s something that’s worth developing…or that it can become a viable way to make a livelihood.
Whitehorse Community Artisans offers an environment where art and creative expression can develop and thrive, and where budding artists of all ages can share their personal creations with confidence.
Art, artisan products and creative expression have meaning and value, and yet there aren’t a lot of outlets and spaces where someone is encouraged and supported by others in putting in the time to develop their skills.
Or you might be someone who has already developed your craft quite a bit, and you’d like to share what you’ve learned with others, or see what other people have tried.
As a network of artists and artisans we can make more happen than any one of us can in isolation. We can teach, share, network, learn…
We can turn the Darrington, Oso and Bennettville area into a sought after artisan hub. We can bring art and artisan products into the daily lives of our community, and have our community talked about as an incubator for artistic expression.
We may even be able to develop a brick-and-mortar venue for displaying our products.
With Whitehorse Community Artisans, collaborations become possible that can help turn a hobby into a business or a sideline into a main income stream.
These are the types of people that would benefit most from becoming a member of Whitehorse Community Artisans:
- People who are passionate about their product or art.
- People interested in connecting with others.
- Artisans who want their work to be financially sustaining.
- Those that would like to share what they’ve learned, both about business and creation.
- They want to encourage a new artist and help them get started.
- They want to help young people to value their artistic talents.
- They may just want to be around people that value creativity.

I was raised on the standard American diet and suffered from many ailments growing up, including debilitating migraines. At the age of nineteen, with the internet becoming more accessible, I began learning that most of my issues were caused by diet and lifestyle. I also began to learn all I could about herbal plant medicine so I could give my mind and body extra support with healing.
I’m fascinated by the processes of the mind and body and how diet habits affect their functions. I love to formulate my own herbal recipes and started SavannahsNaturals to share the wonderful benefits of plant medicine with everyone! I scour the internet to find the most affordable, quality ingredients so my products don’t have to cost a fortune.
I love being a part of the Whitehorse Community Artisans for the fellowship and being able to bounce ideas off of other artists. From being mentored in WCA, members have taught me how to take better photographs of my products. I have also learned a lot about video editing and promoting. I have been able to mentor others as well by helping with logos or business card designs. I have become more mindful of other artists’ needs, strengths and weaknesses. I have learned to pay more attention to my customer’s wants and needs as well.
Some of Savannah’s creations include handmade soaps from local animal tallows, face serums, body butters, balms, salves, oils and handcrafted hemp/CBD products.
