Darrington Strong Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, May 15, 2023
The meeting was held at Darrington Coffee Co. and Marla Skaglund opened the meeting.
Review and Approval of the Year-End & Monthly Treasurer’s Report:
No treasury report was submitted.
Approval of Last Meeting’s Minutes:
Rick moved to “approve the minutes of the April 17, 2023 Darrington Strong Board meeting; Savannah seconded and the motion carried.
Website Updates:
Martha is currently making an inventory of Darrington Strong passwords & will transfer files & applicable passwords to Savannah and Marla when completed.
Rick will upload the approved meeting minutes to the new website over the next few weeks.
Unfinished Business:
Darrington Day Celebration: Savannah reported that there are 13 vendors so far and she recently sent a flyer soliciting more vendors for the event. Only one food vendor (Darrington Jr. Athletic Assoc) is signed up to attend, so far. Martha is trying to organize a pickleball event for the day.
Savannah updated us on the status of the homesteading group as a possible DS division and also on the status of the WCA.
Darrington Strong Online Store: Rick reported that the project is on hold until further notice.
New Business:
April Community Meeting: Light discussion reviewing the April meeting and how we can improve on future meetings.
Darrington Day-Bicycle Rodeo: Rick contacted Mark Everett of Arlington Velo, who responded favorably and supplied contacts for the event that is now in need of someone to organize it.
GoDaddy & Other Domains-Notices of Renewal/Expiration: Martha said she is “cleaning house” by letting certain domains expire and to ignore the notices.
Darrington Strong Updates:
Future General Meetings: Light discussion about future meetings and confirmation that they will now be referred to as “community meetings”.
Book Sale: Roselie reported that the sale netted $350.00 for Darrington Strong and the funds have been deposited in the DS bank account.
