Rick Knight

Rick Knight

Recording Secretary

After moving to the area in 2010 and witnessing the impressive and heroic efforts that brought the Stillaguamish community together during the tragic event at Oso, Rick attended his first Darrington Strong meeting with a desire to serve in whatever capacity he could. His first project was to act as Darrington Coordinator for the “Ride to Remember Oso”, a memorial bicycle ride from Arlington to Darrington, sponsored by the “America’s Best Communities” (ABC) organization to commemorate the three year anniversary of the Oso Slide.
In addition to the Ride to Remember, and also sponsored by the ABC competition, he volunteered to design and build a “pocket park” located on Darrington Street, and continues to work to maintain and improve the space as it grows and flourishes.
As a retired contractor with a lifetime passion for building and remodeling, Rick joined the Friends of North Mountain team to restore the North Mountain Lookout.

Rick has served as recording secretary for Darrington Strong since 2018. His other passions include photography and visual arts, holistic agriculture, and all the natural sciences. His work experience includes 30+ years in sales and marketing.
