Darrington Strong Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, April 17, 2023
The meeting was held at Darrington Coffee Co. and Marla Skaglund opened the meeting.
Review and Approval of the Year-End & Monthly Treasurer’s Report:
Carson submitted the treasurer’s year-end report that was approved & signed by board members. Carson also submitted the monthly treasurer’s report showing a balance of $25,297.13 for all accounts. Carson moved to “approve the treasurer’s report as submitted”; Rick seconded and the motion carried.
Approval of Last Meeting’s Minutes:
Carson moved to “approve the minutes of the March 20, 2023 Darrington Strong Board meeting; Dawn seconded and the motion carried.
Website Updates:
Marla needs passwords/access codes for both websites.
Unfinished Business:
Darrington Street Fair: Plans were discussed. Set-up at Old School Park @ 8:00 AM & open to the public @10.00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday July 22. Emmens street may be shut down for the event, pending approval from residents and town hall. The potential for a “bicycle rodeo” at the pump track was discussed. Rick will locate the contacts for those who were involved in building the pump track to see if they’re interested in helping to organize and/or staff the event.
New Business:
April General Meeting: Light discussion about setting up for the meeting at the fire station and plans for accommodating the three presenters.
Darrington Strong Updates:
Light discussion about the July 19 general meeting and potential presenters for future meetings. Carson suggested having Ashley Bryson introduce the “bucket brigade” book transfer idea to be held sometime late summer/early fall.
Light discussion about the book sale to be held by Tom Pi on April 29 at the Mansford Grange.
Earth Day Cleanup: Dawn reported that there will be no earth day cleanup at Fortson due to the fishing derby being held that weekend, and that holding the event National Trails Day is being considered as an option.
