Savannah moved to “approve the minutes of the November 20, 2023 Darrington Strong Board meeting”; Carson seconded and the motion carried.
Website Updates:
Roselie reported on the status of our Go-Daddy account regarding multiple sites and whether or not we need them. Marla mentioned that Nancy (of the Darrington Bluegrass board) asked that we update the photos on their page on discoverdarrington.org. Savannah has access to the site and will make the requested changes.
Unfinished Business:
Darrington Strong Community Meeting: The Mansford Grange had pipes burst during the cold spell so the meeting will be held at the Abbott-Wolfe Center. John Farmer plans on attending to present volunteer and vendor opportunities for the music festival slated for late this summer.
Mountain Life Festival: Light discussion about the festival. Marla is on the 2025 festival committee and updated us on what transpired at the last meeting.
New Business:
Highway Cleanup: Marla announced that the potential organizer for the cleanup, Joel Goodman, will be at the next community meeting to meet everyone.
Future Member Retreat: Carson introduced the concept of a retreat for board members to hyperfocus on our group’s mission, vision, goals etc and membership drive vs no membership, a possibility suggested by Roselie. Preliminary dates of Saturday April 27 and Saturday May 4, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM were discussed as well as using Rick’s home for the location.
Acquiring New Members: Roselie lead a discussion about the “auto-renewal” feature and its implications and the need for clarity on the site.
Bike Ride: Carson updated us on the “Read and Ride” event hosted by “Dirty Free Hub”, scheduled for the second weekend in July and Darrington Strong’s role in the event.
Darrington Strong Updates:
January Community Meeting: Scheduled for 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 17 at the Abbott-Wolfe Center, where we will share updates on ongoing projects.
Next Meeting: 3:30 PM Monday February 19, 2024
